@Guppy: I'm thinking a fixed laser source and a bunch of deflectors in fixed positions with controllable rotation. Before firing, quickly aim the deflectors to successfully bounce your (one shot) laser into the approaching evil pumpkin king, and stop him before he gets you. Mwaaa haaaa haa haaaaaaaa!
