The Happenings
The Steamworks SDK has been updated with some new functionality I need to transition Leadwerks Workshop to the SteamUGC system. This will result in unlimited file sizes, more reliable downloads, and other new features. However, the documentation isn't updated yet, so I am going to wait for that before moving forward, and focus on non-coding things this week. Once the Workshop edits are finished and tested, Leadwerks 3.5 will be released.
At the same time, Jorn and I are working on the new documentation. Documentation is in two just sections. The API Reference is our unchanged command reference database. The other section is tutorials. The new tutorials are a linear series of lessons that teach you everything you need to know to make games with Leadwerks. They start with usage of the editor, continue on to teach Lua scripting, and then finally conclude with gameplay examples that show how to put your knowledge to use. They are quite detailed and assume the reader has no previous knowledge. They're easy to find, with every lesson displayed on the main page with a thumbnail, and no nesting or categories hiding them away.
The approach we're taking is that Jorn designs the sequence of learning and writes the initial content, and then I go through and make additions and edits. Writing content takes a lot of willpower to do, so back I go...
