@jen the navigation that comes in the editor doesn't care about water height. It only cares about is the area walkable. One way would be to have very steep drop offs of terrain in the water I suppose.
-
You have to know where the water is to do this and since the path finding is built into the leadwerks the only way to do that is to block the water with something.
-
It really is that way Also, I guess I originally had a 650 not a 950 (as I found my old box for the 650) so yeah, this 980 is killing it. Running Battlefield 1 on Ultra gfx with no problems. Amazing!

You're storing iterators in a list? What's the goal with this request? Why do you want to do that when it's initialized or removed from a list (still seems odd to store iterators in a list)?
-
If you don't notice issues with other games then I would think josh is missing considering this in Leadwerks perhaps? Must be a way from win API to get this info and do something with it?
-
So you guys changed the size of thing on win 10 and it caused this bug?

Just curious did the old AnimationManager suffer from what you fixed in the new one? I still use the Lua AnimationManager since it's more flexible but if a change needs to be made there as well I'd be curious to what that would be.

My motherboard was LGA 1155, which I guess is fairly old. So I went to buy a new one. Of course this has a lot of side effects. I had DDR3 RAM and the new boards don't support that. They need DDR4. So had to get new RAM. Then the new intel boards are LGA 1151 socket type (the naming is so messed up with this). This means I had to get a new CPU. My card needed more power so I had to buy a new power supply . So I have new guts and everything working now.

Entity drag handles (colored arrows) are not showing.
Rick replied to Einlander's topic in Leadwerks Engine Bug Reports
Who needs those anyway Josh mentioned this in a comment on his latest blog post about the update so he's aware.- 3 replies

I'm somebody now! Very cool man. That is a very cool game man! I'm on my laptop so it's harder to play with the mouse pad so I stopped at the moving platform in level 2 but very cool concept there!

About Game: Dead Anyway is a zombie survival game. You can think of it as a mix of State of Decay (for it's zombies, some missions, and small town setting) and The Long Dark (for it's survival aspect of hunger/thirst/temp/etc). The video and screens below show that it's a top down game but we're switching it to a first person perspective. We're also minimizing the 2D UI required and going for more 3D actual objects instead. When looting a cupboard you'll open the door and see the models of resources such as food. We'll be using sound and shaders to represent health, hunger, thirst, and yes sanity. When you want to find something in your backpack we're looking at putting the backpack model on the ground and seeing the 3D objects inside of it to pick what you want. Dead anyway is a game we worked on almost 2 years ago but production stopped because we realized we were missing the level design skill on our team. We've made other demos since then but keep coming back to needing a level designer. http://www.indiedb.com/games/dead-anyway/videos/dead-anyway-demo-reel-1 http://www.indiedb.com/games/dead-anyway About Position: This is a non paying position, however our goal is to get the game on Steam so all profits would be divided evenly between the 4 of us. 25% each. This role would be primary level design of a small town and everything that goes into that. This means laying out the roads, houses/buildings, and props. This would mean furnishing the houses as well. Tim is our modeler and can make pretty much anything you'd request. That being said a bonus to this role would be someone who can model simple props as well. This isn't required but it's a nice to have. We are also open to game design ideas from all members. We take everyone's opinions into consideration. However we need this person to be understanding and not take things personal if their ideas aren't used or only portions of the idea get used. We are all adults and expect the same from this role. About our Team: Tim (Modeler): http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/user/5086-tjheldna/ Shadmar (Shader programmer): http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/user/747-shadmar/ Rick (Gameplay programmer): http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/user/112-rick/ Tim and I have been making demo's together for about 2 years now. Shadmar joined us about 6 some months ago. We generally use Trello for our project management. In the past we've done 2 week sprints where we assign tasks to each person that they think they can get done in those 2 weeks. We all have families and careers so we understand that time can be tight sometimes so we're understanding with that. Our goal is the get this game on Steam. Some of our past work includes some of the games below: http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/viewitem?fileid=634076765 http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/viewitem?fileid=546727133 http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/viewitem?fileid=527801322 Please send me a private message if you are interested in joining the team. Include any work you've done and why you'd like to join the team.

Context is more like your gfx context. That doesn't take input. A window takes input and handles it while a gfx context handles drawing stuff.

They did and said it didn't matter. They didn't seem to want to touch the idea of a new mobo. Were trying to get me to just buy a new PC which I don't want to do. I have it s local shop now to get another person looking at it.
-
Bought a 980 and that didn't work either. Gave the same result of sitting at mobo splash screen and not getting passed it.
-
Last night they said they tried all sorts of gfx cards in it. All 900 series GeForce worked but no 1000 series worked. Very strange. For now it's back to normal and until I figure out what's on my internal hdd and get everything off so I can get a new mobo it's stuttering while I play BF1
-
it won't fit in the 2nd slot which is towards the bottom. It also say x4 on the mobo by that slot even though the mobo box say 2 x16 :/ We played with that bios setting and nothing. It's amazing how naked I feel without my PC in my house . Going to just let it go for the night. It's days like this where I think about getting a console a say screw PC gaming but then I remember controllers suck.

Win 10. If they can't think of anything I think I'll take it back as is and just go through my internal drive and save to my external any data and inventory any apps on it and then wipe my internal on my own and then try the card from a fresh install with the same mobo. I feel like the drivers or something on my system is messing it up. Before it would beep and not even show the screen to get to the bios. Now it doesn't give me the beeping and shows the screen that allows you to get to the bios but you can't actually get to the bios. Pushing any button results in nothing happening. It just sits there but that's improvement from the black screen and beeping I was getting.

Yeah, I told them I wasn't married to that gfx card and if they had a gfx card guru who could recommend something similar but better than my current and works in my system that would be great too. Just kind of annoying I'd have to do trial and error with cards in my system when this one should work. A lot of open boxes on their side potentially. I did think about getting a new hdd as well. Wouldn't I need a new copy of windows then too to put on there? All the damn hdd are huge these days. Mine is older and only 75 gig which for an internal is perfect as I put most everything on my external these days. My internal is full now because I just never went back and uninstalled stuff from it to my external over the years. I for sure see why ppl just throw their PCs away no get new ones but my CPU and memory is fine and don't want to waste that as those aren't cheap. This is a huge sell for cloud based data though. Would be nice if all apps came with the option to save stuff to the cloud and just have the app installed. Then I wouldn't give a ****. This sucks. All because I want to play BF1 without my PC freezing every few seconds.

Well, even the pros don't know what's going on. Has anyone switched motherboards but kept their hd? I know Windows sort of freaks out with that with activations.

Were we able to set the zip pw via Leadwerks function that does that, from Lua? I know it does that in c++ and Leadwerks is the thing that needs to know the zip pw as it's the one that unzips and reads the data in its functions. Currently that's all done "magically" via the le package process. In the C++ main file is where it loads zipped files. Looks like Package::Load(). I don't see any pw being out in there so guessing Josh hides all that. I'm guessing he might be using the same pw for all LE packaged files that is in his library. Not at my pc atm to see if that function has an overload to take a custom pw but wouldn't that require pro version then since you're doing it in the C++ app?
-
Doesn't that expose the sound files for theft then?
-
That does leave the issue of Lua games and where the password is stored for the zip files. It would be nice if LEs packaging system did break out assets to multiple zip files logically as that helps some. Hell the directory structure of the game could be mimicked as is and every file inside is in its own zip file. That would give us control of the zip structure.
-
"Considering ADG is on Steam now, users will have to start updating any time there's a patch." This statement has been the quite underlying issue with Leadwerks packaging system. It doesn't matter for updates if you have off or not currently users would have to download the entire zip for any asset update to the game. This really should be looked at to help ease the pain. Customers of Leadwerks games aren't going to be happy when they read a games release notes to an update and see their download is massive and it's not adding up.
-
well it's not the card as I put a new one in at the stores and it still didn't work. It's in the techs hands now. Should know in 4 hours. It's like my baby is having surgery . This is the bad thing with PCs. Wish this kind of stuff was easier.

Your other option is to loop over all the entities in the world after you've loaded the map. world->entities I think is the list you would loop over.
