  1. Does the occlusion culling in LE effect wireframe? I mean is it rendered the same?
  2. thanks for that info Nio, I will simply have to try them to find out
  3. ok thanks seems straight forward enough .. is it only .fbx that supports hierarchies?
  4. yep, thats true. for dynamic objects you'd have to also save as .obj ... I was just thinking about a workflow that would mean not having to change modelling program to do the initial creation. @Niosop : Good afternoon, cool .. so you'd model the seperate objects .. save out to .obj and import into Blender to be saved out to .fbx , would you just position the parts in blender as required?
  5. I think Wings 3D saves out to AutoDesk FBX? not really used it.
  6. I wonder if it would matter if using those programs that don't support .fbx that you could save the individual models out as .whatever and then import them into say blender as individual objects THEN export as .fbx?
  7. I think ArBuz is right about UU3D when it saves to .gmf @Josh : "The OBJ format does not support hierarchies" : good to know thanks. I would like to figure this out to as I think its going to be quite a key thing later.
  8. I was thinking more of anything that used terrain or the other stuff mentioned. You could try the tunnels.sbx I had that working in the editor too with an X1550 and ATI Catalyst Display Driver Version 9.11
  9. how would you know the answers you seek are there? the forums locked So far you have not asked any questions.
  10. Are you not going to still run into problems with that?
  11. Then the answers already there and it needs not repeating. But new questions always arise It would allow our time and effort to be used by those who decided to go "another" route to "procure" a copy of the SDK...
  12. Morning Michael, if you are using XP that might be problematic as Fraps cannot capture desktop applications under XP as it needs the program to be recorded to have DX or OGL as its core runtime system, XP's desktop does not but I think Vistas (Windows 7?) does. Although when using on the Editor on XP it does record the actual scene window. Hope you feel better soon
  13. I only used the beta full install and it was pretty quick .. not sure about the released version as an upgrade.
  14. I can sympathise with that but the new one is nicer looking.. just as overwhelming but now its all in new places but it is a good tool, just whished they'd make it a bit more intuative to use.
  15. Well if you think thats "ridiculous time" you want to see how my watch works I agree with Mack and Nio, right now the best bet is to use the existing model/game scripts and what ever is on the wiki, not to mention the forum, while Josh catches up in that area. Make the best of what we do have until then.
  16. Oh Good Grief .. now you sound like all my Ex's
  17. I'd have thought considering the sheer filthy state of your Mug+Plate+Bowl your next models would have been a washing up bowl and a bottle of Hairy lip squid ... Thanks again Gimpy
  18. You can select the instance of the entity in the right hand window and right click and select go to ..
  19. Ah .. but look on the bright side Vic ... you get great FPS with those empty scenes
  20. I got THIS setup to run LE but the X1550 isn't supported as it can't perform texture lookups in the vertex shader. Hence the crashes when trying to load maps with terrains.
  21. I think Michael's looking for the "least" suckiest
