Also, I have no idea why it keeps throwing the last image at the end of the post after I have removed it like 3 times now..

Some more cool stuff - the first item is TerreSculptor, it's a free terrain editor http://www.demenzunmedia.com/home/support/ the second item can be used with it. To get terrain maps https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/ you have to sign up for it, but it's free, you set points on any part of the map and it will let you download a terrain map for it. After selecting the area that you want to grab for your terrain You have to click on the "datasets" button and it gives you a list of download options, if you want to use it for TerreSculptor the dataset that you select will be under "Digital Elevation" ---> SRTM --> "SRTM void filled" ---> Click on the results button After clicking on the "results" button it gives you a list of different files to download, click the download button for the ones that say 1-ARC and download the one that says "BIL 1 Arc-second" Open TerreSculptor and if your just starting the tool up there should be a welcome screen with an "import terrain" button If you don't see it, go to "file" ---> "import terrain" Then select the folder that it's in, make sure you change the file type to BIL then you should see this screen You should see a really detailed map now if you want to see colors you can click on the "material" button on the right side and you will get When done, there are well over 25 different file types you can export to by clicking on "file" on the top left and clicking "export" at least one of them should be compatible with leadwerks. There are tons of tweaks you can make to the terrain, including changing the altitude, it's amazing all the options to choose from for a free terrain editor/creation tool.

Thanks, the 2920X Gen/Rev 2 threadripper gets toasty at max load on all cores though with a liquid cooler ...so I don't do very intensive tasks ..afraid to fry a nearly $700 CPU ...example I did a blender render test earlier today ...all 12 cores maxed out at 100% @ 3.5ghz and it reached 173F(78C) .. bright side though the render was 2min and 28sec ...not exactly sure if the temps are reporting properly ..the Core Temp tool seems to be the best ..but thats where I monitored the 78C temps from though ..so still not sure.. This is the case I have https://www.newegg.com/gunmetal-fractal-design-define-r6-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811352093?Item=N82E16811352093

What happens when you lower the settings on the amount of particles?
-
Ah, got it, ty
-
Whats the status on this? Pretty much all other game engines are 64bit now.. One of them has an MIT license and open source
-
Yeah I was just wondering because I made a simple scene with just a box and a particle emitter and my whole PC started lagging, debug mode is 20fps..ish ..my PC specs are below, so wondering why it's sluggish and lagging with just adding 1 thing in the scene. get like 60fps though using the normal run button. I set my fire up like yours, all the settings.
-
Are you testing it in debug mode?
-
https://www.kenney.nl/assets/particle-pack as far as I know ..all assets on that site are free to use for anything https://gamemechanicexplorer.com/#fluid-1

Nothing spectacular, set up a series of 2d sprites and the code for it so I can just paint the maps, all the collisions are set already, then threw a placeholder player character in and did all the animations and controls, controls are arrow keys, or wasd or game controller. im just getting all the functionality going, once done ill replace everything with my real project assets, the goal will be a kids game 2d sidescroller .. Your a lost cat that will wander through a city environment while encountering new things, people and other animals as you try to find your way back home, but you end up even more lost and outside of the city and into the real world ...nature. There will be dialogs, with choices to make when encountering different situations ...and sometimes there will be branching paths to choose from and the player will be prompted to choose based on certain aspects of what the cats senses are reading from each path, once you choose it takes you to a new part of the map ...etc. depending on choices made, you will either end up back to the city and at home or stranded in the forest, but a happy ending for either end result. My kid requested this ages ago(a kitty game) ..figured I would start working on it now. To Do list: Player customization system health bars proper menu system(I have one, but it's buggy) cool loading screen animation(I have one but it's just a black fading effect) inventory system, the cat will have some sort of harness that can store things enemies(have a basic ai set up already) day/night cycle water more layered assets, example mountains in the very back, trees just before that, grass just before that ..to add some depth dialog system Probably have some more but can't think of them atm.. Np I made this song in like 5min with it, it needs more variations and less repetition and build up and fall of for easy transitions ...but, still pretty cool https://1drv.ms/u/s!Avl9SGhEcSxsa0OfH7RIbFt0cec?e=W8YsY0 if you use Windows game bar DVR to record it, you can use shotcut to split the audio from it and save it to a wave file ..shotcut is free and open source, see the link below https://shotcut.org/ Also please make sure you actually type in the file extension when saving the audio ..like musictest.mp4 ...depending on the chosen file format on the left or it might not save correctly.. example pic: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Avl9SGhEcSxsbAwSYkHIyNEUXIE?e=Wghsam

Np, happy to help. Correction on the music creation tool it's technically free, but to download the cool clip you made, by clicking on the download button you will be met with a pop up.. if you click on download preview it will download the clip for the whole length of the music, but it will keep saying "royalty free music created by Ai" every few seconds. You can get around this fairly easily and use windows game bar DVI in windows 10(windows key + G) and click record and it should pick the music up and then just split the audio from it .. BUT the tool is easy to use, just a few clicks and you have music, then you can change all the blocks to make different sounds

As usual, please no negative comments, this post is designed to be helpful, if you know about any of these tools and texture sites, that's fine, if not, that's awesome, hope you enjoy. Royalty free texture websites, some are 1-16k resolution http://textures.one/ https://texturehaven.com/textures/?c=terrain&s=sand&o=popular https://cc0textures.com/ ----------------------------------------------------- This is an example of the quality textures you can get from those sites: this is 8k resolution free drawing tool with animator: https://krita.org/en/download/krita-desktop/ free royalty free music creation tool: https://ecrettmusic.com/ cloud generator https://github.com/opentoonz/kumoworks/releases usage tutorial for the cloud generator: ------EDIT Forgot to include this tool, it's called OpenToonz, it's a completely free and open source drawing and animation tool, link in below: https://opentoonz.github.io/e/ and a tutorial video for it: ----EDIT This is another cool tool I forgot to add, it's called Shoebox, basically a sprite packer with several other tools, including animation, requires the download and install of Adobe Air, since when you download it it's a .air file format it's an unsecure site and there is a warning about unknown author or whatever, but I downloaded it and been using it, seems safe, link is below: http://renderhjs.net/shoebox/ https://get.adobe.com/air/

Great job, its looking really good, love the UI, and the weapon works as it should...keep up the good work. -
I like it, good job so far, I am assuming the laggyness is just from you recording while playing, its reminding me of portal :-) .

I still have the LE2.5 SDK on my system also ...still works in windows 8.1 ....still might make something out of it . The new Leadwerks 4 ...I don't like the way some of it works, like how it handles assets. and of Course the lack of other programming languages besides C++ and lua.. I understand why ...but still.

No GUI editor yet? .. that would be my only gripe.
