  1. @shadmar : Yes it's the same talented artist The davantage of devian art site , is that you don't have to register to download compared to the one you posted. I tested one pack, textures with normal and specular maps, but they look more like simple diffuse texture with lightmap shader. Dynamic shader and lights would make effect lot more visible live indeed. And yes, they are goo quality enought.
  2. Thanks Josh. I think the good looking effect can come from simple but good looking textures, as it's some try to capture Mario Galaxy style texturing.
  3. panz3r : space mmo you mean ? The amount of work is reduced, caus characters (design, sculpt, textures, aimations, classes ...) are what can take ages to finish, like terrain levels and buildings (decorative and functionnals).
  4. hummm .... $13,794 Not too far, that's almost 15, 000. Just need some more adverts on GC and 3D sites.
  5. For Glow i agree. For displacement, just use normal map and just change shader when it will arrive. You can already make a great game without displacement and beautifull
  6. Why there is some much physic bugs ? I'm again will complain and shake the conversation ...and Josh is overwelmed by work : LE3 new stuff and Linux. But even if it was more easy to port newton from LE2 to Leadwerks 3, i think LE3 as new standard should have benefit a lot from having something like Bullet in Leadwerks 3. A more complete , solid and prooven 3D engine (even used in industry games) Some other indie engine ,used ODE, some user just begun to port Physix, and Physix has become official new physic engine. I just hope this will happen for LE3 (more physic features and solid 3D engine)
  7. What is height ? And Gloss? you mean Glow ?
  8. I noticed the sinking into the ground (only in certain areas of the map) also. Might be a bug? Has it is been submitted with files example on bug section ? Some even mobile game with such problem would not do it.
  9. @Naughty Alien : I agree with basic stuff first than platforms after, but it seems LE3 need some commercial and popular success, i think that's why it' is so many platforms and Steam. I would like it that way also : GUI, terrain, editor refining before platforms. That's why i suggered some "Suggestion approved system" in suggestion thread. @Pixel Perfect : I agree lot of programmers only toy, without making some game, but selling some platform even to people that don't make a game is what matters for the engine. It's better to have some 3D engine that flows with market than some 3D engine that don't keep moving, and do not progress. Even if you must pay some upgrade.
  10. Sony can't put any style of game on their PSN, consoles are not PC with lot of free little games made by any user. XBOX have their XLBA and independant category lot more open, and i seen lot of super simple games , or trash ones with super simple or super bad graphics. I don't know for XBOX ONE how it will turn , will they make same category ? I think Console port could be discussed later when Linux will be here first and if come user or company would come with a solid game to port ?
  11. This indie game is already on PS4 : Let's see if some good games appears with LE3 before needing to port them on PS4 ?
  12. Thanks, yes all is in Player.lua
  13. It's like Ouya, one you have Android , it's not so complicated to go Ouya. Same for PS4 , once you get Linux, PS4 support is not so far away
  14. "I disagree on DX9 and GL2.1 being able to do good graphics especially next gen" Well with normal maps, specular maps, some glow shader , yes you can make what is called Next Gen, even without super screen effects. Main supre graphics games called Next Gen are not only shaders or screen effects, but rely lot more on features : - detailled characters - top notch vegetation and models - slick UI interfaces - dialog spoken - music/sounds - gameplay LE3 can do Next gen graphics in some measure actually, you can make some complex outdoor scene with normalmpa/specular shaders and super detailled characters.
  15. Who is named ken here ??? To summarize : Octodad game is not Next Gen, looks more 3D standard and it goes to PS4. Why ? because of great concept, totally original gameplay and playble with PS4 detection movements , where the game is very well suited. And indies 3D games , even great are not specially next gen (TorchLight 2, Elysian Dust etc ...) So yes LE3 can do it. The quetsion would be more : It is really needed to LE3 go PSN or XLBA ? it is enought demand ? not only toyers but teams that make games already ?
  16. "If irrlicht got approved by Sony i don't see why they would be against Leadwerks honestly." Yep no one said that ? Well , there is Linux, Ouya, and lot fo work on LE3 actually, i'm not sure asking PS4 or XBOX for LE3 to be a good thing actually. I wont' be suprised if i would see PS4 logo or Xbox systems supported by LE3 soon ? What will need LE3 will be skilled game making teams, or a skilled "one man game" makers. If you have lot of platforms, but no game or only few, it will remain hard to become more popular than only popular in the technic side of game making.
  17. Is the vide tutorial also dealing with : detect horizontal / vertical / diagonal quick line draw on touch screen ? I think if they exist we can make some virtual joystick for Android ? We saw one on some LE 3 video for darkness, but it seems it's not included in LE3 package today. I'm thinking, we could try to develop some visual tool helper.some visual editor stroring on some file (myProjectSettings.properties) some buttons/joystock position on screen and their scaling.
  18. "Consoles are just like any other company. They like to make money. And they will gladly make money off of you." And you'll make money by putting yoru game on their servers also Yes you will not buy some console module and port your game if already it is bad on Windows or mobile. That's good to have their approval, what could be better would be some steam grennlight system on consoles also.
  19. So basically before you can even think of developing for PS4 you need to have a decent working demo on PC, before you will even get your hands on the SDK. Getting to that full working demo point is a mission in itself. Indeed , it means had make some working complete demo, and beeing indie people we know the work and mission it means.Specially if you are a lonewolf, and i think theywon't accept bad graphics, and bad design. This is an Irrlicht game , and it has been shown at E3 in a video of indie games on PS4 : http://www.octodadgame.com/octodad/about/ Irrlicht can be good for super super hard core programmers : http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/forum/./viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48105&start=165 What is lacking a lot is good and complete editor and tools (irredit is jus a simple object placement)
  20. lol Nope it wasn't the subject.
  21. Well it seems mobile touch functions are not on documentation ? Under Class window : -GetTouchPosition -TouchDown -TouchHit Why ? we can use them no ?
  22. Sometimes like for Linux, after some funding price you put, you ge tthe product also. There are great games that would not make it without kickstarter and their success just only show lot of people want these remakes or new ones : -Torment: Tides of Numenera - Project Eternity -Elite: Dangerous etc ...
  23. It is wriiten : This will let you build games for OUYA and Android, without ever leaving the Linux operating system. What it means ? having Android license give you Ouya platform for free ? Well Ouya is just some "plus", the main important stuff remains Linux for Linux community. And good signs are Steam coming to Linux and some other popular 3D indie engine also coming to it. So yes Linux as priority.
  24. I won't put money on Ouya store as i have already Android, and great best indie games goes to Steam mainly. And yes 360 quality and cheap old games remains better , more resolution , and far away from some Asphalt 7 on Android. We'll see if Ouya will do well or not, as games make the console success. Indies working on PC could need Ouya, but not Linux. Ouya for Leadwerks 3 with is own kickstater page, could be lower than Linux in terms of founding goal, and making it Multiple LE3 kickstarter projects is not bad. It just shows LE3 can support that platforms but will do only if enought people are interested. Linux or Ouya support are two different stuff (one is LE3 editor on Linux, other is plaform game delivery when you own LE3 basic edition first)
  25. Great news for LE3 Ouya support Where is the new "green" menu : "Ouya kickstarter" ? One reason i would buy a Ouya would be if emulation and gamepad would be good enought. I don't know if it is too soon or not , before knowing if Ouya will be popular or not, but kickstarter at least will show if LE3 must invest or not in it. And Ouya is Java like Android , so it should not be so difficult to port. How will it be for people that conributed 100$ at least on kickstarter ? they'll have the Ouya LE3 software ? But theyll need to buy the PC/Mac basic version first to be able to work ?
