  1. Iµ just see "New Script" for the barbarian ?
  2. Does anyone know how to bind script to some character on screen ? Or does anyone have a small Lua code for basic static camera, and basic character move ? Wiil it be decals commands or some tool for placing decals on the scene ? Again , will debugger compiler will need internet access when we buy LE 3 ? Something that will stop me to buy it, as i'm offline when i travel on weeks.
  3. I will use my own Blender level or tiles, so can we lightmap on imported models ? Does navigation system will work on level made of models ? It is possible to have particle effects when character touch a goblin ? Can we make a total game and menus in script ? Can we load by a single command a whole world , entities and graphics settings ? (a world made in the level editor and saved) Can two same models goblins call different scripts (one would attack a lot and fast another would be more slow and less damage) ? It is some attaching functions for attaching stuff to characters or any other models ?

  5. Ok again i talked too fast Ok it is good price for LE 2 people , and good for fidelity and in compared to what is on indie market. So i'll avoid Esenthel C++ even if it is not so complicated. If i success on controling a custom character in LUA , i'll go for PC , Android perhaps.
  6. I think fidelity and old buyers of LE 2 should really be lot more well deserved. One year - Two years LE 2 Owner : 250$ PC basic - 300$ Android Two years-4 years LE 2 owner : 200$ PC - 250$ Android More than 4 years owners : 150$ PC - 200$ Android It's important to keep customers Well, for me it's the max i would put on it, even if good in the actual state, i have same workflow and lot lot more for Free or complete stuff for 200$ Specially with missing terrain tool, , GUI editor , Particle editor and graphic advanced stuff lile Clothes physics and breakable objects , unlimited worlds. I can find for 200$ : PC, MAC, Android ,IOS For Free : PC same and lot more advanced toosl and workflow even if advanced graphics are not int (a free shadow plugin exists) For 400$ : Basic Android, but complete toolset and terrain, particle editor, Gui , lot of plugins for additionnal editors and more advanced workflow (Physic visual editor, caspule visual editor , automatic ragdoll etc ...)

After first user try , i go for second deep phase test : By right click on folder containt view i just see some new menus, and find "import" in main menu also. - In BSP Mode , We don't see what texture will be applied anywhere when you will create a solid Hard to work fast like that. - Cant' copy / paste materials between folders - A texture jpeg is 257 Ko, the material created upon it with just a diffuse shadre is ... 8Mo ??? that's not possible ? - you place a character in the scene, than change texture , when clicking on it on the scene, it don't reload texture ? Yes, the FBX animation was imported successfully Yes textures import just works great. Yes the material editor is easy, and shader selection is great I will dig FlowGraph and script now. Yes it's smooth and fast Workflow, just great as some Esenthel or Unity

I tested it and here is what i think : I has been a huge amount of work indeed, but it's only some objective advice from me, i respect a lot all hard work of Josh indeed - The compiler debugger seems to need to access internet , if not it don't launch ? Why ? to trace utilisation ? How to do if you want ot program where you won't access internet ? - Lauching the graph Editor , i only see the door system , why ? I thaught i would see Camera and character workflows ? - The Flowgraph editor have No menus ? Why not script load / Save ? - I selected character player , but no way to see what script is binded to it (even if i found Player.lua on explorer) ? - It is some navigation editor ? how it works ? can we adjust it ? adjust navigation zones ? - There is too much BSP Boxes in explorer, all should be grouped as one object to decrease draw call ? ***************** So what LE3 could bring next : 1 ) A Panel Inspector like Unity : you click a character or model it shows : - the script name that will be called - the textures and shader - The physic properties and other stuff ... 2 ) Templates basics, perhaps digging FlowGraphs we will be able to make them and expose some adjustable variables and sliders in some panel ? 3 ) capsule visual editor (it would be cool in some LE 3 future update) ****************** BSP is not justified for me , as i will import all models and level from Blender. At this actual state, for me it's very basic indeed, placing models and call script i can already do that in other cheap engines of some 200$ price even old ones. So yes 1000$ is just super over price. Yes the workflow is AMAZING for LE 2 users indeed. Like other people i can't spend 500$ ,it's too much for me like i said, even for 300$ it is not be as accessible and clear as other concurrent popular engine. It just needs to grow now (perhaps a very low price will help, for me a PC version would not go behind 99$ until terrain and other features, even after it depends on workflow and easy access to features) So big potential, but lot of work , terrain editor, advanced graphic features (even adjustable by sliders) etc ...

Even Unity Free have a shadow plugin that is free (it was some bugs sometiems , it uses some tricks, i don't know if it works on static meshes only, but you have real time shadows) Im' not sure abotu shadows, even blob shadosw , and baked lighmapping will do the job. Specially on mobile, where such intensive stuff as shadows, mut only be used really cleverly, and on action games you won't really watch if it's a Blob system or real shadow. Like space games taht can avoid shadows, or casualn arcade, 2.5D games etc ... Even some linear race track for some pure arcade race game could use alpha transparent polygon to make the shadow So im' not sure about that ? but perhaps you are right ?

Yes Unity was never free before, even when it had pro and non pro versions , you had to pay some 150 or 300$ for the non pro version (i don't remember), i baught the cheaper non pro version , then it was useless when Unity turned to free in the basic version. (we got some reduction to buy IOS Mobile version) ************************************* Rick suggestion could not work, Flow graphs seesm to be based on LUA. And well i would see a simplified system : PC version Mac version Android version Well let's see that delivery date , let's wait for some trial to se how it works. (for me as hobbyst i think on some 500$ for mobile , not 1000$ specially if you make games that don't sell or are bad, perhaps you'll never gain the investment ?)
  14. You can't compare a lot , Unity is a big team that is working on the engine, making promotionnals and adverts, support, and other stuff. And Unity is trying to push further each time with different technlologies like the last motion one, so LE 3 is one person and you can't compete and make same 3D tools or advanced features, it will be to people using LE 3 to program and bring some new plugins, or new systems , so it means LE 3 should perhaps be open to other people with a free version no ?
  15. Perhaps i'm totally wrong, but would some free or limited version have advantages ? The product with such price , only some fans or people having some solid idea or little studios will go that way. LE 3 will need popularity so it will need all hobbysts, indies lonewolves, evene newbbies to 3D, so they will need some NON PRO version indeed. The more people get involved and the more people you have active on forums is better indeed. Even flowgraph templates will grow from people using some free or very cheap version. So i don't say it's a mistke to put such prices, but LE 3 would benefit perhaps from accessible (cheap or free)version, perhaps not for mobile, but for PC accessible version at least ? This way lot of people (hobbyst , indies) indeed will try and perhaps stay, will make games, and will make grow the contributions and tutorials. Like PS4, LE 3 will need developpers Yes LE 3 will be a serious concurrent to lot of 3D indie engines, but for that hight prices i don't know ?

    Great models. The floor looks very simple, but it's some too much earlier version actually. Looks like a mobile game ? Sex change or choice between two can be god , specially for masculine people that will prefer to see a female on screen
  17. Actually it is missing terrain editor tools and other rendering features etc ... perhaps the actual version could be the free version ? Just kidding, caus it must come from a big reflexion on what should contain a free version. Perhaps some complete version for non commercial use also ? ok i seen some trial annoucement on Youtube. Even bigger indie engines like S2 engine (next version 2 is coming also) or Unigine offers a trial. LE3 shouldn't go without the trial or free version, but well let's see what will happen next days

    That's great Rick. I like the character it looks like a mix of medieval armor and aviator style, somewhat original design. It is some action fight or shoot game ?

    That's great. I think we'll see some FlowGraphs for any little functions we could need in space games, platform games etc .... It's the thing i will test first : Flowgraphs. Can we create easyly new flowgraphs ?

This has been some "Rush make and sell a game" Could the game be short (1 hour to finish) and bad on gameplay; we can only admier their work and applause them to have succed in selling it. Only few indie people success on finishing a complete game and selling it

Making a game, even with LE 3 , supposes two things at least : 1 ) A very BIG MOTIVATION to finish and sell a game (and for courageous people, have a wish to deliver it in 6 months or a year) 2 ) Enought gaemplay and basic AI programming skills , or have a programmer and be in a team so 3 ) Abitlity to make good 3D art, or have some 3D artist and be in a team so Alone it's possible for mobile. For PC if you don't want to put years, you will have to concentrate on originality some style or level system that will asks less work than AAA games indeed With LE2.5 you'll need good programmer skills and like that, and be able to dig and understand code examples. LE 3 will bring the new dimension of a game framework, some sort of code to attach to entities if you work with Lua only so you'll be able to make a game by conding only the gameplay (not a framework and all entities and stuff management.) You will even be able to make mobile games that asks for not so demanding 3D art as medium or big PC games, and mobile is the domain for small indie/retro games. I have some mobile action, space, racing rpg games on my Itouch , and believe me they are really well made and addictive, with great presentation, good graphics could it be 2D or 3D. No doubt mobile is some new evolution and it works, and you must just follow it (It just lacks a good joysticks, touch screen is not always good for some type of games). Pure programmers will just have to find good ideas and could re use free 2D textures, free 3D stuff to make mobile games if they can have some good or special but good visual style.
