  1. I think he means upgrading wizards during battle. I'd suggest playing GemCraft for what I consider a quality tower defense game. Notice that waves advancing doesn't stop the action at all; in fact, it intensifies it.
  2. I appreciate this. That's exactly what I was going for. I sent Josh the Photoshop files by PM.
  3. And should you change your mind about the rest of the title screen being black...
  4. I've made the changes you requested. I can make the background clearer still but I think it would draw too much attention from the lettering. It also defeats the purpose (and contrasts heavily) if the rest of the title screen is black. Finally, you may want more of the edge to be black, as it drops pretty shaply now. That said, I'm happy to send you the Photoshop file so you can tweak it to your heart's content. It has about 7 layers.
  5. Sweet! Hard to go wrong with a game that's similar to Portal but your second sentence got me more intrigued. Good luck!
  6. I decided to have fun with it too. Heavily Diablo 3 influenced, as I love their title screen.
  7. Up to you but if all of the animation functions do the same thing (and will, for the foreseeable future) then yeah, no harm in combining them.
  8. It comes with Leadwerks (don't know about trial but I would imagine so). oalinst.exe under the Tools folder.
  9. Looks great to me. I tried mapping a hand once in Max and it's more difficult than I would have thought.
  10. My ultimate fantasy is to create a 2.5D platformer. If LE3 can handle the 2D physics and have decent PC graphics, I'll switch to it. The only thing I would really like to use LE3 for is its networking capability. If it's functionial, I'd like to make a multiplayer game with it (either something like a small-scale Skyrim or another platformer).
  11. It would make an even beter Columbus Day present.
  12. That 2.5D platformer template will definitely come in handy. ... What? What do you mean I'm making things up?
  13. Welcome and congrats! The community is definitely one of the highlights here - just look at all the free assets created by dozens of people, from games to shaders to tools to models to anything else. It's a great cycle of support and encouragement.
  14. Well now you're just showing off. I'm not sure that's entirely necessary.
  15. I use a heuristic canonical method involving elementary degradation coresistance with perpetual injected data persistence. That way the ball coordinates and the paddle y values are saved properly.
  16. Not sure if this is what Josh means but it looks like you mixed 2D and 3D and it doesn't flow together well. Also, the filters are a bit heavy in my opinion. Just some constructive criticism. I like where it's going.
  17. For those who are interested, this is the original font.
  18. VirtualDub does this very easily with even an option to save to BMP, TARGA, JPEG or PNG.
  19. What font is that and is Photoshop format ok? And to save time, did you want me to put a goat farting a rainbow below it?
  20. There should definitely be some grime/grunge/dirt tutorials out there for Photoshop. In fact, you may want to look for some brushes too.
  21. That looks fun and it sounds like it was pretty easy to throw together. My ideal game to make being a platformer, it's all the more enticing.
  22. And of course there's always Turbosquid http://www.turbosqui...itional_specs=1 (This search link is limited to animated characters only but you can change the options.)
