  1. Hello everyone. I need help with a problem that has arisen when I started using the game engine. When I try to put on the map to see the player as the game is running, it does not appear that the prefab anywhere. I searched all folders and does not appear I even uninstalled and reinstalled the software and nothing. I not find him and I can not use the engine. Please someone who knows how to solve the problem? Thanks.
  2. Hello guys! Check it out, I've been developing a game for a few months and I'm finally releasing it, it's my first game on Steam so don't hesitate to check it out! It is a psychological horror game in escape game mode. I did a first version so when I say "700" hours it's more like my learning, development and all the things around because I did the majority of 3D (90%), 2D assets (85%, the 15 % left are modified things like pixelisation), the Sounds & Musics (searching and implementing) etc.. So yes I'm proud of this game ! If you are interested it's : A psychological horror escape game with a PS1 aesthetic. There are puzzles/enigmes and a beautiful loud voice-over So thanks to all the cummunity because I used the script of note (that I modified a lot to correspond to my project for example I did a keypad or a map), the Trees pack, rock pack and blood decals pack !! Thanks for your comprehension and if you check the game ❤️ Steam : https://store.steampowered.com/app/1987900/Ante_Mortem/ Itchio : https://coffeeinteractive.itch.io/ante-mortem Trailer : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xL-Ubn_PNNw
  3. I would like to report an issue I have had with LE3 since day one. Not sure if anyone else has the same experience. As the title explains, some of the surfaces jitter (as in up and down) when camera is up close and is rotating. This happens with the standard materials and tutorial maps as well. When the surface is lit and has a normal map it looks like the diffuse is locked but the normal map jitters. In the animation below you can cleary see billboard jitter (in this case just the diffuse texture).

  5. I'm creating a horror game and am having trouble with doors. The main location is a house with swinging doors in it, and no matter what I do to the scene details, I keep walking right through the doors. I've tried every modification I can, and for some reason I can't fix it! I don't know if I'm just overlooking a simple mistake or if I made a mistake that I really don't know the solution to. Any help, guys? (Scene details below.)
  6. Hello everyone! This is my very first blog ever and hopefully it's all readable! So, lemme introduce myself a bit I'm Dragonfreak and my real name is Dion, i'm still pretty new to this community. (joined late spring if i recall correctly) I study gamedevelopment, i'm in my last year (Due some school issues it took 1 year longer than intended) i already passed my exams thanks to this awesome engine! (I keep recommending it to anyone that ask for a good engine) Currently i'm in my 5th week of my final internship, as soon i'm done here i will have my diploma and will be an official game-developer Ofcourse i have been poking around here and there on the forums and i have joined last Summer Tournament with my exam entry; Realm of the Lamb. Now, to get to the point of why i wanted to make this blog: My winter tournament game! I have been struggling ever since i got noted about the tournament, to come up with an idea.. Unlike my last summer entry, i wanted to have an actual fitting theme with the tournament! So i would be looking at something with snow, winter, cold, hot chocolate, ect.. But i wanted to give it a bit of my own twist in it.. So i came up with Space! Boy, do i love space After brainstorming and bugging my wife and a friend, we came down to this little story: My friend spammed me with all kind of wintery stuff, he came to a point he said "Evil snowman", this was as first a bit of a joke of his random train of thoughts. But then he said "Seriously tho, i want a game with evil snowmen, i don't care how or when. I want one." so this is where the first "idea" came from that will be added to the puzzle later. When i asked my wife for some good ideas, she asked me "Why space? Why not penguins?" So i was like: Well.. Cus space! And why not both? And this is where the idea was born, my wife said: Cute little penguins in spaceships shooting snowballs GENIUS! Loving it! I added the idea of my friend; Against evil snowmen! I could already imagine it all! So, finally to the point of the actual game (Sorry it took a while haha) which has the following name: Spinguins - The Invasion of the Snowmen Space penguins! Who doesn't love em right? Fighting against some evil snowman? Bring it on! The full game idea is still in development, like what kind of mode it'll be and that kind of things.. But the main idea is there! You're a little penguin, shooting snowballs against evil snowmen in UFO's (thanks to another dear friend mentioning it today). I guess the story could evolve from the idea that the home planet of the spinguins are being attacked by these evil snowmen in UFO's and that you're going to be the saviour of your planet. So for what kind of theme do i want to go with the models & feeling of the game? Something serious? Something just plain stupid? I have been kinda brainstorming about this aswell but already quite fast i got the idea to make it a bit Cartoony-ish.This especially embraces the idea of my wife: Cute penguins in a cute compact spaceship. I think i'll finally round up this blog post haha, it got quite longer then i expected.. Like, way longer! I'll try to keep some updates on my progress of the game! Currently i have been mostly doing modeling work because as mentioned above; I'm currently still having internship atleast 4 days in the week, so i don't have all the time of the world in my hands right now. Tho, in the process of modeling these things i became more quicker and handy in doing so which resulted in better models & cutting the time it takes by atleast 50%! I'll end this post with a few "Sneak peek" screenshots of what i have currently. For anyone also interested; I have a trello page which i'll use to keep track of my progress and my current worked on piece of my game. https://trello.com/b/mT1jv1zi/spinguins-the-invasion-of-the-snowmen Thanks for reading this quite large post! You're awesome, here have a cookie Pictures: Quick note: Textures are not final at all, sometimes i just added some to have a better vision on how it's shaping out - How it all started - It gots some arms! - Gave it a face - And a little cute scarf to top it off (this is not the final result, i keep that hidden for when it gets released) There are 2 more pictures of the spaceship (More sketches, i didn't make more screenshots in the process as i was carried away by the moment) You can find these on the trello page if you're interested
  7. Hi, I'm looking for texture from the internet but I can't find some kind of nice texture. Would you recommend free texture sites. Except Textures.com. note: my english is bad, i'm sorry
  8. Hi, Game Launcher window when started is maximised and goes off screen. There is no way to adjust the size of the window, and buttons at the bottom are almost off the screen. This not really looking good and will put off users from using it. I'm using KDE (which is available in Ubuntu if somebody wants to be picky about supported distro) IMO trying going to full screen is pointless especially if launcher have such a basic design. Attached screen is not cut off, this is how it looks with hidden task bar, whole desktop area and to already answer potential question. I had to hide my task bar in order to start the game (button click), otherwise buttons are not visible.
  9. Hello, I have a question about getting my game to run on certain peoples PC's. I recently compiled my game to test on a few friends PC's to see how it would run. The game runs completely fine when compiled on my computer as well as one of my friends computers. I tested 2 other computers and they initially had a missing OpenAL32 error, so I installed OpenAL on one of those PC's. I no longer get that error when trying to launch the game but now the game window opens for a second and closes directly after. I'm not sure if something else needs to be installed on the PC or OpenAL has not been installed correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  12. I have to upload two updates every time I update my workshop game because the first update uploads the previous build of my game. Should I just make a new workshop game and delete the current one or is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
  13. I have the Lua Version (Indie), and compiled games show an unnecessary DOS Window which the user really doesn't want to read. How to disable it? It gives a bad impression.
  14. Only rare 3D map and character moving (for now) Maybe I have started this blog too soon, but I want to share my ideas . (also I am a bit bored ) If you want to build something similar like this in your game, please do that . Whats inside the Screen (items with "+" are currently not in the game): The screen itself: The resolution can be changed in the options menu, There is a very smooth vintage and contrast shader to make it look better. Appearently it has a very good look now. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=408368927 The map: Some self made assets with the nobiax textures in the workshop* make a good look. There are walls, dead trees and a big stone. all of them have physics and it works quite well . This are low poly 3d models made in blender* . The character movement: (character model itself currently work in progress) It is like in L.o.L. , a top-down camera following the character smootlhly via thirdpersonfollow script. w-a-s-d keys move the character into the directions. The mouse is visible and is used for +spells and other things to interact with the 3D world. Very much work needs to be done in particular here. The +barrels and +chests: Unlike the chest, a barrel can be breaked by the player to see whats inside even when its locked. The chest can be opened if it is not locked and a window will appear showing you what`s inside. The +key: Any key that (wow just want to throw in that the site auto saved this at 12:22:22) is found on the map is for opening a +door or a +chest to explore the world. There is also a +key boundle that can open anything if you are skilled in this. +Npcs: They are a main part of the Game, like story and much amount of interacting with them on surprise or +trading. examples: guardian always watches you not stealing a item, or you will be put into jail. +buttons and +bars: On the screen there will be a health bar, a stamina bar and a mana amount bar. if one of them is empty you can think yourself what happens. The bars maximum amount can be increasid with potions for an amount of time or via skill tree. The health bar in particular can be filled with food, the mana bar with drinks, the stamina bar just with potions but it refills itself much faster if the character makes a short break from running. There will also be a combat switch button, when you are in combat, you need too pull out your weapon, when you are in a friendly surrounding with Npcs they want you to put it on your back. Much more buttons will be available like inventory or equip and much more things...
  15. Hi, I'm just thinking about how would I patch my future released game? There are three cases, considering the standard edition: 1. Leadwerks engine patching - new dlls must be downloaded and replaced to new ones. 2. Scripts, game logic (C++) and the main exe file - this is little confusing to me. Do not know what to replace 3. New content: maps, models (assets) - most things are compressed and secured. An entire new game version could be replaced of course but let's imagine that my game supports In-app content. How new maps, models and other assets could be downloaded to the client and patched correctly? How can I achieve that? Does LE support such things or if doesn't, will do in the near future? Do you faced such problems? Thank you, regards, Piotr
  16. Hello, My name is Tiago. I have an idea that I think would be a good one. The thing is that I have connections, but I don't have the skills for that. I have researched about the subject, but I still don't know how to do it. It is an anime graphic style of game. I need volunteers: programmers, map builders, modellers for the characters, etc. If anyone would like to help, I appreciate a lot. Yours sincerely, Tiago
  17. One of my levels crashes without warning when I try to test it. It was working fine not even 2 weeks ago. I have added nothing new to the level, and have since actually removed things from it thinking maybe it was over loaded. I'm not sure if its the editor, the game, or my machine (though I don't think it would be the machine if it ran fine before). I have a link here to the files for the map to see what is going wrong with it. http://www.mediafire.com/download/k61ercnrbmagitq/MyGame.zip
  18. Its Christmas time, good will to all men, but what about Zombies and Crawlers, well for Christmas this year they have decided to have a massive fight, to find out who is the best. You don't take sides, but see an chance to have some fun with their altercation. You are neutral, and can not hurt a Zombie or Crawler, but you can get in their way, or push past them when they are fighting on the edge, sorry, excuse me, oops, oh dear; some may fall off, of course being a neutral you wouldn't have another motive, like placing a wager on the outcome. You would - shame on you. Well once you put aside any moral issues, you have 3 rounds to get your pot of points from 10000 to over 15000, if you manage to do this you get the bonus level which is another go at the 3rd level, to try and boost your score even higher. During each round you start by quickly working out who is going to win and walk into one of the plinths next to you to pick the winning team. You only have 5 seconds to make that choice, and as you do so the amount you can bet is diminishing. 5000 to 0. Is it suitable to play at Christmas parties? Well you may need to turn the volume down, as Crawlers and Zombies do make a lot of noise when the are fighting. Make up your own rules, like the highest and lowest scores pull a Christmas cracker. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
  19. Hello I am looking at the leadwerks engine, and as many of you would know i have had a play with it in general, and i am really interested in going further into an idea for a game. I would like you to tell me what you think, and/or if it is possible. My idea is to have a future set war, where you fight in "mechs" or walkers similar to in Avatar. I would think of having a multiplayer as well as singleplayer, in which you have battles. The sort of scenes would involve futuristic, industrial type areas. I have no doubt that this will involve a lot of work. I am not the sort of person who expects things like this to be a cake walk. The view would be a third person almost over the head view, similar to alien swarm. http://imagenes.es.s...ien-swarm-6.png So if anyone could tell me what they think that would be great. And yes, I do not currently have more then the demo, but i guess i am just seeing if anyone will come up and say that is a ridiculous idea Thanks in advance.
  20. Just a short entry for now. Finally, we received a confirmation email from Big Fish Games and these days we are working to implement their requests. I hope until the end of the month we will send our game for full QA. Here is a picture from the title screen. I will come with more pics in the next days. Update: More news may be available through: http://www.facebook.com/pages/RVL-Games/112666448755905
