R.E.Z.
Hello, I worked with LE Indie Ed 3.1 for some time, creating a level. All the time, I created boxes, adjusted them to the grid and assigned materials to it (1024x1024 resolution), all worked fine: the materials appeared centered, no textures werde split or displaced. Now there werde 2 updated trought Steam in the last days. When I do adjust the boxes now to the grid, this doesnt work anymore? What has changed? Tried to change the girdsize in options, but no success? My settings: snap angle 5 major lines 8 Grid units meters How can I define, how the materials are set? Might someone has an idea for me? That would be great :-) C.U. R.E.Z. Quote Leadwerks Standart Edition RTS Creator
R.E.Z.
Hello, I solved it on my own. Somehow, through the updtes, the grid Resolution must have changed. I took a look at the old boxes I created and compared it to the new once, that didnt show the materials the way, I wanted them to. Anyhow, when I create a new box, I do have to sise it 2x2x2 meters, adjust it to the gid, asign the material and now the material is centered and shows to my benefits. Thats it. C.U. R.E.Z. Ma-Shell
Nice to hear, you solved it yourself. I guess, the cause of the problem has something to do with this: The editor now has the option to use a centimeter grid. The previous meter-based grid is still available in the viewport tab in the options dialog. This is important because it allows us to more easily line brush geometry up to textures. By default, a 1024x1024 texture will map to a 256x256 cm space, which is just a bit over 2.5 meters. This is important because a standard wall texture will now map to a more accurate size by default. You can also modify the mapping scale in the material properties. This will allow you to make a 512x512 texture map to a larger space, for example. R.E.Z.
@ Ma-Shell, thank You for Your help. The Texture-Lock Button and the Texture-Picker I realized to be new, but I wasnt really sure. This Information about the size of the materials is nice to keep in mind and a good help for further my work when dealing with materials. Have a great day, R.E.Z.
