chicolitto
Hello everybody, I'm new here and I bought LeadWerks today. I've made a pretty simple 3D character with a 400 frames animation track containing the idle and the run animation. So I read all the topic and tutorials on how to get blender models to LeadWerks. But my model armature still messed up on LeadWerks. When I export a .fbx file my animation track are here but my armature is not correctly rig to my character like in blender. If I export with the addon for Blender my animation track isn't available in LeadWerks and my armature is messed up the same way as the .fbx file. Please help me Thanks in advance. Guppy
Your armature is scaled in object mode - select it ( while still in object mode ) hit ctrl+a and select 'scale', now re-export again. screenshots of what to watch for here; http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/10181-error-failed-to-load-model/#entry75349 Honestly scaling in object mode is the cause of almost all problems new blender users encounter, it should be disabled by default. chicolitto
Hum, I tried your solution Guppy. the bones still messed up. I do what you said, so I select my bones in object mode and hit ctrl+a and select scale. I exported again the model but nothing change. I tried with the object selected in the case where I understood wrong but same problem again. Thanks Lionel

Josh
You might also try the direct Blender exporter: http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/10246-official-leadwerks-exporter-for-blender/ Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. Genebris
I also have the same problem with your model. I'm using Leadwerks exporter, setting scale, rotation and position via Ctrl+a didn't help. Bit I don't see what can be wrong with your model. I didn't have this problem when exporting my own model. I was using default blender skeleton, try using it. chicolitto
News from the Blender exporter. So now my model appear correctly in the model editor. But I can't see the bones and the shadows move on animation play but not the mesh. What could be wrong in that case ? Hope that's a good starting point. Thanks for your help Lionel
Guppy
Hum, I tried your solution Guppy. the bones still messed up. I do what you said, so I select my bones in object mode and hit ctrl+a and select scale. You need to apply rotation, scale and location for both armature and model - that said when I export your model I just get a flickering ghost with a skeleton that seems to be upside down and missing a bone - not sure what that is about but the animation viewer is kinda wierd on linux atm. Guppy
Also when ever I try to edit the armature blender crashes on me - that me be down to me using a bleeding edge version, but I never hard that happen before. Genebris
I guess there is nothing wrong with your model. You simply need to apply material with animated shader to it to see the animation. Simply drag for example a crawler material to your model in model editor in leadwerks and you will see the animation. This third bone that looks like it's turned in the wrong direction probably just connects armature with the center of the model. I have this extra bone in my arm model even though I don't see it in blender. And I don't know where is actual third bone that should be in ghosts body, it's missing for me too, but I think the animation works properly anyway. chicolitto
Hum, Genebris I tried with the crawler material and it moves !!!! BUT the animation is wrong so the bones are probably not in the good direction. or the animation is messed up for other reason. Also when ever I try to edit the armature blender crashes on me - that me be down to me using a bleeding edge version, but I never hard that happen before. That's so wierd, I have a new model for my ghost I send it.(edit after try : file is too big even compressed) I have a question, could someone send me a little mesh with armature and animation that export perfectly in leadwerks ? thanks a lot Lionel
Genebris
For me your model seems to move just like in blender. Check file that I exported. Also here is my own model that also works as it should. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5h7P9bq9NmIbXlCaUUxdU15ckU https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5h7P9bq9NmITWhfTmU2cENhd2c

Genebris
What was the last problem?
chicolitto
the animations were wrong in Leadwerks. So I begin all from the start and do every point with the infos that all of you gave me. And like a miracle all works fine now but not in FBX with the blender exporter.
