Angelwolf
Can someone please explain to me how parenting works? I want to make an object with 5 brushes move all at the same time. In the editor, I can drag and drop all brushes into one, which forms a tree. Moving that item around in the editor moves all brushes. However, when assigning a SlidingDoor script, only one brush moves. I think I need to use the SetParent function, but I don't understand how it works. The syntax in the documentation confuses me. reepblue
This is because the brush get's collapsed into CSG, and is no longer an entity. Apply this script to any brushes you want to mpve with your door. function Script:Start() -- Do nothing... end Quote Cyclone - Ultra Game System - Component Preprocessor - Tex2TGA - Darkness Awaits Template (Leadwerks) If you like my work, consider supporting me on Patreon! Angelwolf
That did the trick, thank you! And also, how bizarre at the same time. Strange how theres no tutorial for this. Or is it a bug and this is a work around? reepblue
It's just how the engine works. No script on brushes = collapse as CSG.
