Brutile
I'm sure this would have been asked before, but can we have the ability to edit prefab properties without having to drag it into the scene, then save over the original?
tjheldna
You can open a prefab file in the same way as a .map
Brutile
Really? O.o I'll have to try it out. Thanks!
tjheldna
Yep and use File->Save to save. no need to right click on it again and save as prefab.
SpEcIeS
What about exporting prefabs to be used in other projects? Quote SpEcIeS
macklebee
You would just have to copy the models, scripts, and prefabs over to the other project. Just make sure you place all the items that make the prefab in the same place or it will not work (or just require you to make the prefab again). Josh
I do like the idea of a little window to view prefabs. I would not try to make it super editable, because that's what the map editor is for. (Prefabs are just map files with a single top-level object.) 5 Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. SpEcIeS
Yeah. I already tarball up prefabs, however it would be nice, and convenient, to have built in feature that does this for the developer. Rather than chasing files down and putting them into a package. Something like right clicking on the prefab and having an export option that grabs all the related material placing them into a package (zip).
