Thirsty Panther
I need some help in designing a turret. I'm guessing I need to design it in two parts. The base with legs to support the turret. The top including the barrel to track and shoot at the player. So the base is stationary and the top that rotates. I'm assuming I attach my "turret script" to the top model so that it tracks the player and shoots at them when they are in range. My problem is to deactivate (destroy) the turret I want the player to topple the turret ie knock it over. Should I make the model as 2 parts. The main part being the top (turret) being the part with the script and the base as a child. Or is there a better way? P.S. I looked for the turret that use to be on the Workshop as a guide but now appears to be deleted.
Genebris
I would make legs of the turrents parent and rotating part child, othervise base of the turret will rotate with it's top. Just attach a top part as a child in Blender and export them both, they will come as a combined model.
Thirsty Panther
I'm using 3D Coat but I get what your saying. So I attach the script to the base and rotate the top/barrel as a child?
