awgsknite
I loaded up the multiplayer example but it did not show any signs of being online. How do you use it ? There was no chat on and no signs of being online just a blank walled off room that has an FPS player to walk around and that is it. I was hoping to see a working small example template of a multiplayer game in action just to see how it is done. Instead all there is is a blank FPS walk around room ! gamecreator
This might help: I tried to look at the Lua code but I couldn't really understand how it's supposed to connect people. I don't know if you use Lua or C.
Josh
The multiplayer template uses Lua. You need a second computer and a second Steam account (or a friend) to test it. gamecreator
You don't even need a second computer. I've tested it with a free program called Sandboxie ("open-source sandboxing program for Microsoft Windows") and I was able to run a second Steam account on the same computer.
awgsknite
how do you set it all up with that sandboxie ? Quote http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197977392956/7977392956/
gamecreator
It's pretty straightforward with the directions you can find online but you can either right-click an exe (like Steam) and run that program through Sandboxie (shell extension) or you can run Sandboxie and find a program to run through it directly. There's maybe one or two more extra steps but that's basically all there is to it. It's kind of like a virtual machine, if you've ever used those.
