ChrisCrinkle
Hi thre, a little bit new here but have been trying to try the leadwerks demos to sample the quality of the render engine but seem to be encountering some weird bugs... in the "train" example the only thing that renders (everything else is light grey + can see a grid) is the moving train, the white track and a line of stacked oildrums. the "terrain_artic" file seems to contain only floating trees, sky, and mist, no actual terrain! the desert highway file seems only to contain grey mist, sky, and a green line/path. However after a while sections of road start to appear, floating. Does anyone know where the button to turn the landscape back on is? :s
macklebee
Post your computer specs to see if it meets the requirements for LE. Also always remember that you need to update your drivers. Laurens
Sounds like out-of-date ATI drivers, but won't know for sure unless you post your specs. Cheers!
ChrisCrinkle
I seem to meet them: Dell Studio 1735> Intel C2Duo T5800 2X2Ghz Processor. 3MB Ram 32Bit Vista Mobility Radeon HD 3650 A lot of free disk space. And i have a laptop graphics card, so unfortunately the original drivers are the only one i get!
Laurens
Being stuck with the original drivers just because it's a laptop would be lunacy! You can download drivers for the Mobility Radeon from http://ati.amd.com (go "Notebook Graphics", "Mobility Radeon Series"). I think that will fix most of your problems. I would not expect great performance on that card though. Cheers!
ChrisCrinkle
it WAS true with my first laptop, a HP pavilion DV2000. They never release updated drivers for whatever was in that, and the official drivers didn't find any hardware they could update, so it was bad. I will see if i can update and find out if that works. It's ok tho as i have a gtx 460 nvideo card coming soon.
Josh
That card should be okay. The issue you describe reminds me of an ATI driver bug from a few years ago. If you can get those drivers updated, I think you will do okay. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. ChrisCrinkle
I dont think the drivers work. Installed them but now catalyst control center crashes at startup, and dxdiag says my drivers are from 2008. Plus which the same things still happen in leadwerks :/
