BenH
I am an old school Leadwerks supporter. I started with Cartography Shop, then moved onto 3DWS, Character Shop, and I also had the first version of Leadwerks engine. I have loved every Leadwerks product I have ever used. But since then I have been using my mac all the time and have been using Unity. Unity is cool, but it is a little pricey for the good version. But I was curious if Leadwerks Engine was going to be available for mac at some time, because I would really love to use a Leadwerks product again and I feel the engine is a great deal at the current price. Plus now with the recent news that Apple has decided to have a "Mac App Store" it seems like a great idea for indie devs to get games out there. Also, is there plans to have maybe any mobile deployment options (Android, iPhone, Windows 7, etc..)? Thanks btw-I am aware that I pay too much for hardware when I buy a mac, please no PC vs Mac debates
Rick
The new version of LE, LE3, is currently in the works and is said to be able to run on Mac, PC, Linux, iPhone, Android, PS3, XBox, etc. You just have to wait probably another year or so for all that to be ironed out and solid. Some people might say less, but I'm just being realistic and not a fanboy by saying a year. Josh is making good headway on LE3 but there is still a ton of work to be done to support all those platforms and get all the tools to support LE3. Mumbles
Here's hoping. Hopefully he's trying to show the average gamer that Open GL is once again the king of 3D graphics. Once that bit has been done, they'll think "So why am I paying for this rip-off Windows (*'s)?" Then they'll think, "wow! Linux is free, and works with all my current hardware, so I can still use my Phenom II / i7, and it has a graphical interface too..." Then Linux will dominate, and it will all be down to Josh... Rick
It's almost to hard to hold back against the Linux talk here, but then again reality is what it is.
