Brent Taylor
Good luck with that. I'm not trying to cause trouble, but while the Collada format is nice...no one implements the exporters properly, and I mean NO ONE. Maya, Blender, SoftImage and 3DS Max all have their quirks in their importers and exporters (in Blenders case they are severe). Part of the problem is everyone has their own implementation. Josh
Have you tried the Collada to FBX converter? Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
Roland
Have you tried the Collada to FBX converter? Not exactly. Here is what works perfectly. Modo -> Collada -> UU3D -> GMF If I use Modo -> Collad -> dae2fbx the material is lost on the way. Anyway. I'm satisfied with Modo -> Collada -> UU3D -> GMF But sure it would be cool just to do Modo -> collada and the it would be converted by the editor directly. I realize that there would be much trouble supporting all kinds of formats. Maybe there could be place for 'Load' plugins in the editor so when a dae file is loaded a simple cmd-file would be called. Then conversion could be done by that cmd-file (calling a converter program etc ... ) and the editor would have a gmf file. I don't know. But that would be a really open and simple solution for all kinds of variations. Just a list dae - daeconv.cmd fbx - fbxconv.cmd .... .... somewhere to define what to call for various formats Quote Roland Strålberg Website: https://rstralberg.com
Josh
It would be good to support DAE of all formats better. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
