DigitalHax
Hey all, What image editing software do you use? I use Paint dot net for small simple things and converting to dds, but use photoshop for more complicated things. Canardia
Inkscape is not an image editing program, but a vector painting program. But I use it to make .svg and .ps graphics. Gimp can do tiled textures quite well too. Just select layer offset 50%/50% and correct the seam in the middle X/Y axis. This is true, as do quite a number of other applications. I bought TextureMaker years ago before using Gimp but it does have some nice features that result in it still being my first choice for tiled texture work. The resynthesizer plugin in Gimp remains an invaluable tool for removing those annoying repeating items though. flachdrache
One usually just needs a good texture editor and a mass viewer like irfanView ... gimp with the dds & normalmap plugin .. dont miss the CeGui layout plugin, if you work with that. PSP was the all time awesome program for alpha channel and texture mixing tasks ... thx to you photo editing, red-eye removers - it was left-behind and we all now have to life with the mediocre - since psp 7 seams to keep crashing with winXP sp3 and up. http://portableapps.com/apps Quote AMD 64 X2 Dual 5k - 4GB - XFX GForce9800GT - nv196.21 - WinXP Sp3 zBrush4R2 - Silo2Pro - Unwrap3DPro - Gile - MaPZone2.5 Xxploration FPS in progress ...
