fumanshoo
So this is a question for Josh. There is nothing wrong with the landscape mode in LE2 in face, it's awesome. But I was just wondering if LE3 will have any fixes/improvements at all. Specifically for making city environments. The road node feature is amazing, but maybe some more features would be nice. gamecreator
What "more features" are you looking for, specifically?
fumanshoo
Honestly I don't even know. Just anything that can make production easier I guess. Not that there's anything wrong with it now, but I just haven't heard too much talk about the landscape editor for LE3.
Andy Gilbert
From what I understand initial LE3 won't have any terrain editor or built in tools for terrain editing? :/ Andy Quote The good news about computers is that they do what you tell them to do. Josh
The initial release will not include terrain, unless you use a custom shader. We're focusing on CSG editing and mostly indoor maps. fumanshoo
I see. That actually makes it easier for my current project. I never could really use the terrain editor for city scenes, so I think CSG is the way to go. Thank you!
cassius
City scenes at night could easily be done without terrain and so could a medieval village. fumanshoo
Yes, but what I would like to do is make the buildings in an application like Blender and then do streets in Leadwerks. I dunno, I guess it would be more simple for what I am working on, but you can do that already in LE2... I guess I want to work with geometry of the roads inside of Leadwerks... Josh
Yes and you can use these in the editor: http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/files/file/254-concrete-floors/ Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
