just_for_spam
just bought Ultra App kit on Steam because its on sale downloaded, installed, launched it pops up a log in window (why do I need to create a log in ? who knows ?) but I click the link to Create an Account I get taken to this forum I fill in my user name and email, the browser suggests a password -- I automatically accept (DOH !) go back to steam -- relaunch -- put in my name -- and I have no idea what my password is because I accepted the suggested one -- and I didn't bother to write it down because I knew my browser would save it and automatically fill it in whenever I came back to the forum so now if I want to use the software I have to change my password WHY WHY WHY do I need a freaking user id and password to sue your software ? this is so DUMB
Josh
Without email registration, there is no way to contact customers directly. I sent a private message with some info. But the Steam store page does say that a user account is required. Valve wants developers to be responsible for providing all the promotion to drive traffic to Steam now, and I can't do that if I don't have an email list of customers. I would recommend anyone releasing anything on Steam do the same. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
