Canardia Posted January 21, 2023 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Has anyone tried Atlas OS yet? It's an open source OS which replaces Windows 10 and promises to give better performance for games: https://atlasos.net/ Quote ■ Ryzen 9 ■ RX 6800M ■ 16GB ■ XF8 ■ Windows 11 ■ ■ Ultra ■ LE 2.5 ■ 3DWS 5.6 ■ Reaper ■ C/C++ ■ C# ■ Fortran 2008 ■ Story ■ ■ Homepage: https://canardia.com ■ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Genebris Posted January 21, 2023 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Apparently it has a lot of things removed including printers and antivirus. And it's not an open source OS, it's just an open source patch. So I'm scared to try it myself. I hate Windows 10 FPS but can't trust a random patch. Josh Posted January 25, 2023 Share Posted January 25, 2023 I liked the way they show stats on their main page so much I took some inspiration for the main page here: https://www.ultraengine.com/ 2 Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. Canardia Posted January 25, 2023 Author Share Posted January 25, 2023 Will you run the benchmarks for Godot 4 and Source 2 too? They both support Vulkan. Josh Posted January 25, 2023 Share Posted January 25, 2023 I don’t plan to because it takes a lot of time to set up. I’d rather just focus on unity since it has the most users. Canardia Posted January 25, 2023 Author Share Posted January 25, 2023 Yeah, I guessed so. I planned to do a wrapper in C# so that the same game code runs on all 4 engines. I think you would benefit from the results too, in case Ultra is slower in some benchmarks (which I suppose will not happen ).
