Josh
Why is Windows Explorer showing my EXE as if it has a small icon? The icon size is 256x256 and the icon file itself appears correctly: Here is the icon section of the .rc resource file: ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // // Icon // // Icon with lowest ID value placed first to ensure application icon // remains consistent on all systems. IDI_ICON1 ICON "projecticon.ico" Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. Solution Josh Posted April 13, 2023 Author Solution Share Posted April 13, 2023 The secret is that the icon file must contain multiple "mipmaps". It's not enough for it to be a large icon. This program is the only way I know to create these: http://www.aha-soft.com/anytoicon/ 1 Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. reepblue
I use Gimp to do my icons. You create the "Mipmaps" on each layer and save it as an ico. I still don't get why people hate Gimp so much. 1 Quote Cyclone - Ultra Game System - Component Preprocessor - Tex2TGA - Darkness Awaits Template (Leadwerks) If you like my work, consider supporting me on Patreon!
