Josh
When you purchase Leadwerks 3 you get: The latest version of the full product, for Windows and Mac. Saving and project management features are unlocked. C++ compiled libraries and header files for Visual Studio and Xcode. Full access to the website with your Leadwerks account. Christian
I have the same question. I also think you need to add a few more demo projects to Leadwerks 3, the one at the moment isn't really selling it to me. The demo projects in LE2 were far more impressive. cassius
A lot of game engines have very impressive demos which show their capabilities. They are written by experts to a very high standard that most of us can never achieve if working alone. At least with Darkness awaits you can look at it and think"I could do that" I think le3 was published too soon and should have come with terrain from the start, but thats how Josh works and most of us are aware of it so should't really grumble. karmacomposer
The most impressive LE2 demo was by far the island demo - simply gorgeous! Not available right now. Josh
We're trying to focus on gameplay and the art pipeline, so you may not find the new demos as visually impressive on high-end PCs. We can add good graphics onto an engine with a good art pipeline, but we can't add an art pipeline on after the fact, so it makes sense to develop in this order. karmacomposer
What if users provided demos to you guys - would you use them if they showed off good qualities of the engine? I have yet to upgrade from LE2.5 to Leadwerks 3, but plan on it. I think it would be very wise of you to offer incentives to us loyal users of your engine for creating assets and demos - such as earning free deployments for a quality demo (Android, IOS, etc). I know I would work my *** off to create a kick butt demo if I knew doing so would save me $100 or $200 on upgrades/deployment options. The reason I loved Blitz 3D and Dark Basic Pro was the bazillion demos they provided - especially to show off the code structures. For that reason alone you should release small, but good, demos - to show off the various engine's abilities and examples of how to code for it.
