CJO Games
This error occurs with no input into the editor and seems to be directly related to the generation of the thumbnails. This error will repeat again and again until all thumbnails are generated or until the editor crashes to desktop - curiously if the crash to desktop occurs then preview.exe will hang. Josh
Do you know what folder is selected when this happens, and what files are in it that might be causing this? CJO Games
Any folder with materials textures and models in it - even folders that have previously had the thumbnails produced.
Josh
I cannot fix this without the file that causes the error. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
CJO Games
I can't track-down exactly which model it is because it appears to be happening as the thumbnails are created and I've no idea which model's thumbnail the editor is up to, largely because the editor crashes to desktop and then restarts this process again from the beginning. Josh
You can delete all thumbnails by deleting the folder C:\ProgramData\Ultra Engine\Thumbnails Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. CJO Games
I'll give it a go and see what happens. I'll let you know...
Solution Josh Posted May 19 Solution Share Posted May 19 Marking this as solved, unless anyone tells me otherwise... Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
CJO Games
My apologies Josh! I totally forgot to come back to you on this. It is fixed and works fine now. You could maybe do with adding some sort of reminder for users (customers?) when you've responded and are waiting for a response so that you can close. I'm sure (hope) I'm not the only person who raises something and then forgets all about it once its fixed...
Josh
I thought the system shows a notification when someone responds to a thread you started? You should be automatically subscribed to any thread you post. CJO Games
Yeah it does, what I meant was its easy to then forget about following up on something once the thread has been read...
Josh
So a second notification? Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
CJO Games
I guess so... it might not be a problem for other people it just a suggestion for the more forgetful among us and to make things easier to you as I don't envy you chasing up responses from us - like I say though - if its only me that thinks this might be a thing I'd suggest politely ignoring me as you know better than I - I have no doubt ;-)
