Just thought I'd mention that every time I make a material and texture a mesh then reload the editor my material is blanked out. I have to recreate the material each time. I can try to guess what you are doing, but I am unable to recreate any problematic behavior based on the description. Josh Posted July 15 Share Posted July 15 Hi, I am happy to investigate this, but I could really use the files you are having trouble with, both your materials and your full project. I have been using the editor all day to create materials and edit models, and have seen no problems. If this problem cannot be rectified or even identified I will seek out a steam discount and move to a more capable game engine. Thank you. I have been using the model and material editor extensively and have seen no such issues. In order to investigate this I need exact instructions on how to make the problem occur, preferably with the files it is occurring with. You can send files to me privately with a private message if you do not wish to upload them on the forum. Sorry to hear that, I don't know how 'more specific' I can get then saying "materials created are not being saved to models'. Just because you cannot create the problem does not mean it does not exists. This is normally where quality assurance comes in but I see we are lacking a quality assurance team here. Josh Posted July 15 Share Posted July 15 I attempted to recreate your issue from the description, but it worked correctly. I created a new material in the model editor which was applied to one mesh, and when I saved the model the material file was generated. Solution Josh Posted October 14 Solution Share Posted October 14 I believe for some reason the auto-convert feature was being triggered for these files. Materials were not being lost, the file was being re-converted into our format. I do not know how this could happen but it wasn't a very good feature anyways and it is being removed.
