WuotanStudios
Hi, yesterday i was testing ultraengine again. I worked on my laptop + a second monitor/screen. As long as i had the ultraengine window on my laptop screen everything worked as usual. The moment i was moving the ultraengine window to my second screen, the editor started to act weird. Some icons (see attached screenshots) disappeared, which i think this happens because the second screen is bigger, but with a lower screen-resolution. So far it can be explained to a certain level... What i can not explain myself is, everytime when i was trying to download a new material during i used the second screen, the ultraengine shuts down. The only explanation that comes to my mind for this: Normally when the download is finished, the window in ultra engine jumps from "Asset Library" to the "Project" view. Maybe this function is somehow related/connected to the main-screen of the laptop and ends in an error/crash ?
Josh
I will set up a second monitor and test this... Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
WuotanStudios
i made another test -> this time with my laptop + AR Glasses as secondairy screen. The Editor has the same behavior in this test -> same icons do disappear. Reason (imo) -> the Editor doesn't auto adjust to the new screen res -> icons and font-size too big -> some icons disappear. (same happens when you only use one screen, and make the ultra engine window small) In this test one thing was different -> Asset Library -> Downloads didn't crash anymore -> BUT, when i drag and drop the material onto a mesh in the 3d window -> crash. So i think the crashes have nothing to do with the second screen. There must be a different cause....
Josh
When the window is made smaller, the toolbar will hide buttons that do not fit into the space. The editor does not change the DPI scale of the program (font and icon sizes) when the display DPI changes, it just uses whatever the display it is created on uses at startup. I do not plan to implement dynamic DPI switching in the editor. Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
