But, even if you do learn to model, texturing is the next challenge. Much happier with Blender now that they've change from their older UI and rearranged things. I tested one pack, textures with normal and specular maps, but they look more like simple diffuse texture with lightmap shader. Dynamic shader and lights would make effect lot more visible live indeed. And yes, they are goo quality enought.
