codeape
A few months after releasing support for viewing models in .STL format, GitHub just added support for viewing changes to .STL formatted 3D models directly in the browser. It is a very visual feed back I must add. Check this out : https://github.com/blog/1633-3d-file-diffs
YouGroove
I really don't see the interest specially for game making domain ? SketchFab is lot more better : http://sketchfab.com/search/character Quote Stop toying and make games
beo6
i don't see where sketchfab displays changes of a model and how that should compare to github which is a code management/versioning whatever tool. It is definetly nice but it seems it is only useful for CAD models.
YouGroove
ok i understand better github like SVN, but showing difference for CAD models ... well we try to make games not CAD ? For visualisation only sketchfab is used by 3D artists. Quote Stop toying and make games
codeape
You are right, Leadwerks has it's own file format for models etc. Sure, Blender can export to STL. Those things are however not interesting. The interesting thing is that it is possible to make a diff of two 3d models and that the diff is intuitive. When you know how something can be done and can be applied on one thing it is a big chance that the knowledge can be applied on related things. Maybe this will spread to blender files (There will be a Leadwerks plugin for blender you know). If you do not spread the word about interesting things in your domain and related domains nothing will ever evolve or spread
