Ryan Wenke
One of my artists is having a real hard time converting animations/models from maya into Leadwerks. He has used the DAE -> FBX converter and claims nothing happens when he does that. He has directly saved the model as a .FBX, but we are getting weird problems once we put it into leadwerks from that point. The lighting on the model is all dark, and the animations are extremley jerky. Any ideas?
Laurens
I export to OBJ from Maya, then to GMF using obj2gmf and have no problems whatsoever. Disclaimer: this was about six months ago and I have switched to Silo now.
Niosop
I wouldn't mind looking into it if you could send me a sample animated object. Both the DAE version and the FBX version would probably be best. TylerH
Ryan forgot to mention that the model is animated. Also, we know that the model is dark because the artist did not setup smoothing groups properly. Poly
Hello, I know its been a while since this thread was active but I still have a problem with that in 2016. When I export a FBX model from maya (with texture) and import it into Leadwerks, the texture has gone... I guess its because Leadwerks creates its mdl file but how to import the texture then if I UV mapped my model in maya?
