Luke Knowles
Hey there, I was wondering if there were any shaders to make my game look similar to borderlands? http://3amthinkings.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/borderlands.jpg with the hard outline
Benji385
Hey Luke, I replied to you via PM but I am going to do it here as well. Look into getting this book or this book. In a nutshell it should allow you to make the Cel Shader as well a bunch of other shaders. The book clocks in at about 1000 pages give or take ten or twenty. It is very in-depth and will teach you allot. I hope that I helped
flachdrache
Well its a depth based shader AFAIK and has been (tried) done before but the terrain was too smooth to look good. Some user might revive it, if you status update for it ... but tbh its well known and there are free and legal versions 'out there'. However I am not familiar with current state of post processing and the foliage seams to be a 'special case' e.g. second pass render. flachdrache
The old way is to draw models two times with one being slightly larger, black and with inverted normals - making it a hull but that just used to be for character models. 1 Quote AMD 64 X2 Dual 5k - 4GB - XFX GForce9800GT - nv196.21 - WinXP Sp3 zBrush4R2 - Silo2Pro - Unwrap3DPro - Gile - MaPZone2.5 Xxploration FPS in progress ...
