Shirk Posted January 30, 2014 Share Posted January 30, 2014 I've been trying to figure out why my transparent textures aren't casting shadows and receiving any light, and just remain fully bright. I tried Shadmars vegetation shader, but it produces ugly textures and still doesn't receive any lighting. Any insight into why this might be happening? Josh Posted January 30, 2014 Share Posted January 30, 2014 I don't see anything abnormal in that screenshot? If you turn on antialiasing they will look nicer, but I don't see anything wrong with it. Shirk Posted January 31, 2014 Author Share Posted January 31, 2014 I kinda figured part of it out, the editor wouldnt update the texture correctly so I wouldn't actually know when it was working or not. YouGroove Posted January 31, 2014 Share Posted January 31, 2014 I seen that shadow "artist" problem on another engine long time ago, shadow beeing too strong. Josh Posted January 31, 2014 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Two new shaders have been added in the beta branch on Steam: "Shaders\Models\diffuse+normal+specular+alphamask.shader" "Shaders\Models\Shadow\shadow+alphamask.shader" These are untested, so opt-in to the beta at your own risk.
