Normal map generation corrupted

Version: Leadwerks Steam Beta updated 5-15-2014

 

This is really 2 bugs.

 

First bug.

When you create a normal map using the right click menu, the normal map it creates dosent get finished. It starts from the top and gets to a certian point and the rest of the file is blank.

 

Second Bug.

After the normal map is generated it does not show up in the asset thumbnail view. You must change to a different directory and back to see the normal map.

I noticed this bug as well after the compression update.

I found out by playing around that you can generate a normal map from an Uncompressed tex file and this bug won't occur(the normal map will generate like it should). If you generate a normal map from a Compressed tex file most of the time the bug occurs(normal map looks exactly like the picture you posted above). I figured it might just be related to how compression works but I'm not sure.

I actually changed the way this works.

 

Now it looks for the source image file, and turns that into a normal map. If the source image file is not found, it will display a message.

 

Please tell me if this is still a problem but I think it is fixed.

My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
