Josh
Unless the UK is drastically different from the U.S., pretty much anything will do. For a laptop, I would probably get Intel graphics as long as you understand it won't be a great gaming machine, but will be adequate to work on. It will be cooler and lighter. I find that "high-end" laptops are such a compromise; they're still not as good as my desktop, yet they have extra cost, heat, and weight. So they're kind of the worst of both worlds. Something like this might be good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314218 Quote My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without. Marcus
I would go with one of the following depending on your budget: http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade/ http://www.aorus.com/x7.aspx http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GS60_2PC_Ghost.html#overview

Josh
I prefer macbook air or macbook (pro) Me too, even with Windows. The hardware is so much better than a creaky plastic case, and the trackpads are so responsive. The Surface actually looks kind of interesting as well. shadmar
Asus G750 serves my needs. You will never own a more silent and cooler (as in cold) gaming laptop. Quote HP Omen - 16GB - i7 - Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
cassius
Thanks for the advice. I went for a Dell Inspiron with a similar spec to the Acer suggested by Josh. http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-17-3737/pd?oc=cn37314&model_id=inspiron-17-3737 Quote amd quad core 4 ghz / geforce 660 ti 2gb / win 10 Blender,gimp,silo2,ac3d,,audacity,Hexagon / using c++
